The most stunning 1950’s Chanel three row Necklace.

Each row is wired with multi coloured Gripoix, Pate de Verre, Glass beads, graduated in size. There are amber, ruby, rose quartz, orange, yellow and green coloured beads.

Many of the beads have gold metal filigree caps with clear paste rondelles.

A simply early Chanel hook clasp secures, marked France.

Early Chanel pieces were not marked, apart from the mark France, seen either on the clasp or a metal element within the piece of jewellery. Chanel only started to mark her jewellery from 1954.

Both Maison Gripoix and Louis Rousselet supplied Chanel with glass beads, or created pieces for her Catwalk shows four times a year. So these Beads were either created by Maison Gripoix or Rousselet.

The length of the necklace is 16.1/2 inches on the inner row, with a 2 inch extender chain.

All of the elements are in excellent condition.

A rare and unusual early piece of Coco Chanel fashion jewellery.

A lovely collector’s piece
